Children with
someplace to go, end up going places. Easton ROCKS envisions a community
that challenges and opens opportunities for all children and families
regardless of their race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status to reach
for and grasp life’s possibilities, be it academically, artistically, or
athletically.
Easton ROCKS After
School provides before- and after-school programs at Easton Elementary
and Easton Middle Schools that enrich students’ academics, improve their
physical fitness, increase their access to the arts, and open
opportunities for them to try new hobbies or indulge existing loves. Our
deliberate policy to extend programs to each and every student helps to
foster a sense of friendship, community, and inclusiveness that may not
otherwise exist.
Since 2005, we have seen
tremendous growth in numbers of elementary-age children participating in
ROCKS and in the number of programs
we offer, with program leadership coming
from teachers, parents, and other interested members of the community.
In 2008, Easton ROCKS has begun expansion to EMS, where we believe that
it is especially important for students at this age to have a safe,
supervised, and engaging place to go during the after-school hours,
which is prime time for drug and sexual experimentation and crime among
our youth. Easton ROCKS is committed to the continued expansion of our
services at EMS to draw more students into after-school programs.
As Easton ROCKS continues to be the largest provider of after-school
programs for students at EES and EMS, we are looking to secure its
future by dreaming big and promoting the organization’s development by
increasing local awareness and support for out-of-school programming.
Our commitment to providing enrichment opportunities to all Easton
students remains strong because at Easton ROCKS we believe that kids
with a place to go, end up going places! |
