Elementary School
was rocking Friday night with hip hop music and rock-n-roll, spinning
dancers and bouncing unicyclists. Even some would-be wizards in dark
cloaks made an appearance in the school’s crowded gym.
It may sound like the premiere of a new
Cirque du Soleil show, but the purpose of Friday night’s free program at
Moton was to showcase activities that Easton ROCKS After School, Inc.,
offers students at Easton’s
elementary and middle schools.

Friday night’s ROCKS show, which attracted an audience of over 300
people, featured popular after-school programs like the School of Rock,
Easton Elementary’s very own kid-led rock-n-roll band; the Hip Hop Dance
Clubs from Easton’s elementary and middle schools; the Unicyclist and
Rollerblade Club; and the Muggles’ Club, which consists of hardcore
Harry Potter fans who performed a skit from the popular series’ first
book, The Sorcerer’s Stone.
