Mission
Easton ROCKS After School, Inc., provides all Talbot County students with access to affordable, high-quality youth development programs during out-of-school hours.
Purpose
Easton ROCKS places special emphasis on builiding after-school opportunities for middle-school-age youth that will keep them safe, supervised, and engagedin developmentally appropriate extracurricular activities.
Build programs that are tailored to the developmental needs of young adolescents in order to balance the autonomy young people crave with the adult guidance they need.
Identify and recruit the most dynamic, talented, and dedicated program leaders, who will help students grow to their full potential by providing learning opportunities in innovative ways.
Work closely with the YMCA of Talbot County to provide a supportive after-school environment for at-risk youth in its "Hang Time" program.
Develop strong community partnerships with other organizations in order to coordinate and improve the delivey of youth development services.
Promote continued parent invovlement through the middle and high school years through newsletters and age-appropriate family activities.
Engage Talbot County youth and community members in regular forums to identify and prioritize desired programs.
Integrate 21st century skills into programs, including information and communication skills, thinking and problem-solving skills, and interpersonal and self-directional skills.
